The Cyprus mobile market has reached market saturation, leaving little room for organic growth through new subscriber additions. Two mobile network operators (Cytamobile-Vodafone and MTN Cyprus) offer services although Cytamobile-Vodafone maintains a significant market share. 3G and HSDPA services have been launched by both operators. With the mobile voice market at near saturation levels, both mobile operators are focusing on lifting ARPU levels by encouraging prepaid subscribers to migrate to postpaid plans as well as increased spending on mobile broadband/content services.
